Process Of Dental Crowns
Once you visit the Medici Aesthetics, a comprehensive examination will take place, including a few x-rays to check the roots of the tooth. If your teeth require treatment before placing a crown, especially for severely decayed teeth, the necessary procedures will be followed at first.
Anesthesia will be used to numb the area, and the tooth will be reshaped to make room for the crown. If your tooth is severely worn out, a filling material will be used to support the crown.
Next, an impression of your tooth will be taken along with the one above or below to ensure the crown will not cause a problem to your bite. The impressions will be sent to the laboratory to create your permanent crown.
A shade will be selected that matches most with your natural tooth to avoid noticeable differences once the crown is placed. You will be sent home after setting a temporary crown to ensure your tooth is protected till you receive the permanent one.
The second visit will remove your temporary crown, and the permanent one will be placed after checking the color and the fit with the teeth. Similar to your first visit, local anesthesia will be given before starting the process to avoid discomfort or pain.
