Overview Of Body Contouring

Body Contouring

You may have witnessed some wrinkles on your body or any signs of aging, and it made you unsatisfied with your appearance. If it appears that you want to enhance the way some parts of your body look then body contouring is the right option for you.

Sometimes, you may not be in the mood to follow a healthy diet or an agile gym routine. Hence, you may turn to body contouring as a way of achieving your body goals. Body contouring, such as a Brazilian butt lift, is a common way to fill in any undesirable part of your body and gain the ideal body type. It offers a way for the patients to be able to get their body reshaped according to how they like it.

Types Of Body Contouring

There are different types of body contouring services that you can avail depending on the needs of your body, some of which are listed below:

  • Liposuction: Liposuction involves removing unwanted fat from some parts of the body where you do not want it to be and planting it in different body parts as per the patient’s request.
  • Temperature-Based Contouring Treatment: It used controlled cooling methods to freeze stubborn fats in your body. The process takes up to 3 months, but the solution is permanent.
  • Muscle-Lifting Treatment: This specific method targets your abs and uses electromagnetic energy to make the abdominal muscles contract.
  • Genefill Brazillian Butt Contouring: A non-surgical method used for a booty boost. In this method, the specialist injects the filler in your buttocks.

What Is Genefill?

Genefill consists of the latest products from the new generation of dermal fillers. The devices used for genefill are designed to make the body changes look as natural as possible. The application involves improving the quality of your skin and making it look as youthful as possible. It makes the skin look nourished and provides excellent results. It is proven to be cruelty-free as there are no signs of animal origins in genefill products.

Benefits Of Body Contouring:

Body Contouring is generally loved by many as it helps them achieve their ideal body. It requires little recovery time so you can get back on your feet as soon as possible. The procedure itself is very short, and it only takes up to 25 minutes. Quick and easy! Unlike surgical procedures, body contouring is a non-invasive procedure, so it is beneficial for people that have a fear of going under surgery.

Recovery/Aftercare:

Usually, body contouring is a painless and quick process, so it does not require a long recovery period. There is momentary pain while the procedure is being conducted, so there is no need to take excessive care of your body afterward. The redness, swelling, and pain that happens as a side effect goes away in a while.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty? Yes, It’s Possible!

Dermal Fillers

You may have noticed many times that you have difficulty breathing properly or perhaps you injured your nose in an accident, and it has never been the same since then. Moreover, maybe you are simply not satisfied with how your appearance looks and want to change it as soon as possible.

Rhinoplasty is considered by many to be the solution to these problems. Many people turn to this procedure when they have decided for sure that they need a change in their appearance.

Non-Surgical VS Surgical Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that involves modifying the shape of your nose through adjustments in the nose or the cartilage. It is one of the most widely performed procedures of plastic surgery.

On the other hand, Non-surgical Rhinoplasty, also known as liquid rhinoplasty or non-invasive rhinoplasty, is the quickest and easiest way to fix your nose without going through any complicated steps.

It is an effective transformation that only takes up to 15 minutes and delivers excellent results. Meanwhile, surgical rhinoplasty gives permanent results, but the procedure itself takes time since surgery will be performed on you, so it is a serious decision to make.

Benefits Of Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is loved by many due to the fact that it has a lot of benefits on the side. The non-surgical kind provides much more control to the patients so they can observe their nose while the Liquid Rhinoplasty is administered to them. Liquid rhinoplasty is also reversible as opposed to the surgical alternative. As a result, you can go back and alter the results again any time you want with fewer consequences.

How Do You Know If You Need Rhinoplasty?

If you ever wonder how you can tell that you need rhinoplasty for medical reasons, then you can look at the following symptoms:

  • Irregular breathing.
  • If your glasses slide down your nose very often and it becomes irritable.
  • If you are becoming dissatisfied with your appearance, then these are all the reasons why you should consider rhinoplasty.

Things You Should Know Before Getting Rhinoplasty

The first thing on your rhinoplasty itinerary should be to visit a professional aesthetic clinic so that the surgeons can determine whether the prospect of rhinoplasty is suitable for you or not.

If your medical history allows it, then rhinoplasty is definitely the way to go which is why it is important to consult a doctor before considering the treatment as it can either go very well or terribly for you. If you are a hemophilia patient or someone who has a high chance of bleeding severely from a minor injury, then you will be advised against any kind of surgery.

Non-Surgical Aftercare & Recovery time

Consult your doctor about the different things you can do to take care of the inflammation around the part where the liquid is injected. It is recommended to completely avoid touching the swollen area for the next few hours until it subsides.

Recovering from non-surgical rhinoplasty is, thankfully, not a big hassle. It takes very little time to recover from it as long as you avoid touching that area unnecessarily for a few weeks. Massaging the injected area, whenever applicable, will work wonders for you as well.

Our surgeons are top professionals in their fields and you can get excellent non-surgical rhinoplasty treatments anytime at a professional aesthetics clinic like Medicci Aesthetics.

7 Tips For Lip Augmentation Aftercare

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation procedures are done to achieve a fuller, plumper lips. These are usually done by injecting fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Lip augmentation can also be achieved other than using dermal fillers, as in the case of lip botox.

In general, lip augmentation is a non-invasive and safe aesthetic procedure that takes only a few minutes. Since dermal fillers are absorbed in the body, lip augmentation does not have permanent effects. Hence, for individuals to maintain their desired lips, regular injections are needed.

It is perfectly normal to experience swelling and tenderness in the site of injection- especially after the procedure; slight bruising may also occur. These side effects are likely to fade in time with the right aftercare. Managing the first few days after the procedure is easy, just follow these tips provided by our beauty experts at Medicci Aesthetics.

  1. Avoid Any Exercise Or Strenuous Exercise Over The Next 2 Days

Immediately after getting your lips treated, wait for 24 to 48 hours before you engage in activities that increase your blood pressure. This is to avoid worsening your bruising and swelling. Only conduct light exercise if your doctor permits.

  1. Stay Hydrated

To help your body heal faster and for the swelling and bruising to subside, drink plenty of water. At least 2 to 3 liters of water a day, every day.

  1. Ice Can Ease The Bruising And Itchiness

Place ice cubes on a cloth and apply it directly to your lips for relieving itchiness, bruising, and swelling. Before your appointment, get a cold compress prepared to be available straight away once you get home from your treatment.

  1. Eat Healthy To Help Speed Up Your Healing Process

To help you further in the healing process, instill a diet that contains meals rich in vitamins and minerals. Foods abundant in protein, vitamin C, Calcium, and Vitamin D are excellent in helping you recover after your lip augmentation.

  1. Follow Your Doctor’s Instructions

Make sure to listen to the instructions given to you by your physician after visiting the aesthetic clinic. If you receive any prescriptions, be sure to follow it to avoid any complications after your treatment.  It may be uncommon, but some physicians will ask you to massage your lip area at a given time.

  1. Hold Your Travel Plans For The Next Two Weeks

Planning is essential when getting lip augmentation or any other aesthetic procedure. If you have travel plans with your partner or your friends, make sure to do your treatment at least 3 or 4 weeks prior- especially when traveling overseas. The cabin pressure inside airplanes may affect the swelling of your lips.

  1. Learn To Recognize The Warning Signs

Just like any other aesthetic treatments, all procedures come with risk. Lip augmentation is a generally safe procedure, and complications are unlikely. However, when you experience persistent bruising, swelling, pain, and hotness in the area, it is best to immediately check with your doctor.

Final Words

Aftercare for any type of aesthetic procedure should be taken seriously. Having proper aftercare will ensure the best results for your treatment. If you’re interested in lip augmentation of any other aesthetic treatments, you can consult with our Medicci Aesthetics experts today.

Face Thread Lift – A Beneficial Healing Response To Ageing

Face Thread Lift

Until the conception of thread lifts, the only way to reduce the signs of aging and facial skin laxity or sagginess is going under the scalpel. This procedure is known as facelift surgery.

Medically referred to as Rhytidectomy, a facelift surgery involves pulling back a flap of skin on each side of the face. Excess skin is also surgically removed to help contour the face’s shape and make it appear youthful. Platysmaplasty or a neck lift can also be done together with facelift surgery for better results.

Facelift surgery gave instant results that would otherwise take longer compared to topical solutions. While dermal fillers and botox are also available, surgery seemed the only and best way to address sagging facial skin. However, not everyone is willing to go under the knife-enter Face Thread lift.

What is Face Thread Lift?

Face Thread Lift became an answer for individuals who wanted faster results than non-invasive facial rejuvenation without the risks associated with facelift surgery. In this procedure, temporary sutures are applied to the skin and are lifted or pulled back and tightened to achieve a youthful appearance.

Thread lifts are minimally invasive and low-risk. Specialists claim that there is little to no bruising, discomfort, scarring, bleeding, or any other serious side effects or complications associated with the treatment. These threads can also be used in different body areas, including the neck and cleavage area.

At Medicci Aesthetics, PDO or Polydioxanone threads are used in thread lift treatments. These medical-grade threads are thinner than hair. Several research pieces have supported PDO as effective in stimulating the blood flow on tendons and muscles while relaxing it. This further encourages the production of collagen in the skin, called neocollagenesis.

How Long Does A Procedure Take?

The treatment is done on an average of 45 minutes to an hour, and recovery time can take up to two days at the most.  Most patients usually go back to their daily activities after the procedure. The key is to find a trusted aesthetic clinic that can help you in every step of the way, from consultation, the actual treatment, and aftercare.

How Effective Are Thread lifts?

Thread lifts effectively lift the eyebrows, reduce crow’s feet around the eyes, lift sagging cheeks, eliminate marionette lines, tighten the face, and reduce the appearance of necklines. These effects can last up to 3 years as the threads gradually dissolve over time. As one of the most- advanced and innovative aesthetic procedures, it is safe and has minimal downtime and offers instant results. You can step out of the aesthetic clinic looking and feeling younger than before.

Preparing For The Procedure

The first step is to find a reputed aesthetic clinic that you can trust. After booking a consultation, the specialist will provide you with a few guidelines that you must follow before the thread lift treatment.  It is also essential to inform your aesthetician about any present medical conditions or prescriptions.  It is advised to take a rest and avoid stress at least the day before your treatment and avoid consuming food that can worsen inflammation such as sweetened beverages and fried foods.

Communication is vital for any aesthetic procedure, so make sure to talk to your specialist.  For more information on PDO thread lifts, you can book a consultation with us at Medicci Aesthetics.

Break The Stigma: How The Male Beauty Industry Is Reforming Standards

aesthetic clinic

Beauty regimens aren’t only for women. Men too, more and more take extensive care of themselves. Like women, men can also lose their confidence when they do not feel comfortable in their skin – they are affected by body issues just as much as their counterparts. However, only a few men are willing to visit an aesthetic clinic on matters of improving their appearance.

Makeup, skincare routines, and aesthetic procedures have always been associated with women and seen as entirely far off from masculinity. Although not wholly destigmatized, men are slowly embracing skincare routines, cosmetic treatments, and even makeup.

Male beauty standards have changed over the years as we have seen the rise in trend of men who were especially particular with their grooming and how they look. The term metrosexuality describes this trend. Fast forward to today, even more men are paying attention to how they dress and look.

The Age Of Social Media

Social media has been a significant influence in changing the perception of people towards male beauty standards. Several male celebrities and influencers are actively promoting products that are otherwise predominantly associated with women decades back.

We have also seen how social media’s inclusivity has become a driving force in advocating the ostensibly challenged male grooming market. The popularity of selfies and the need to want to look perfect on social media has made male grooming and aesthetic procedures break into mainstream media, making it commonplace.

Selfcare Revolution

For the past decade, we have seen convenient 3-in-1 products targeted at men. These can be from a shampoo conditioner body wash to an antiperspirant deodorant body spray product. Consumer trends in personal care have enabled men to realise their own needs and seek out products that work for them.

To the extent that today, you can hardly find 3-in-1 products anymore as a wide range of men’s beauty care is available, depending on an individual’s specific preferences such as skin type. This broad range of personal care solutions in return enabled even more men to purchase specific products to create a personalized self-care routine.

Grooming themselves, taking care of body, skin, and hair has already gone far beyond just looking good, but feeling good and confident about themselves. A new self-awareness that supports their confidence in being good husbands, fathers, employees, and of course leaders has established.

Deviating Away From Rigid Gender Roles

When we speak of inclusivity in the beauty industry, men have had a share of criticism from their fellow peers, especially when it comes to being meticulous about grooming. After all, the traditional concept of masculinity does not entail the need to have a rigorous self-care routine. However, the male beauty industry has become successful in breaking into this rigid gender role when it comes to personal care and grooming.

Aesthetic clinics have also become more inclusive in accepting male customers, often having specialized treatments specifically for men. Male beauty salons are becoming popular as well, often leading traditional barbershops to embrace other services such as facials and conventional spa treatments. Men have been gradually accepting aesthetic procedures such as plastic surgery, which presents a significant opportunity in the male beauty industry market.

Beauty has transcended beyond just looking good but actually taking care of oneself and becoming comfortable in one’s skin. The male beauty industry is beyond willing to head in the same direction.

3 Ways In Which Fat Transfer Can Help You Achieve Your Dream Body

fat grafting

Fat has gained a bad reputation over the years. It is linked to several illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and obesity. While this is true, fat also serves an essential function for the body—fat acts as a storage for energy. There are also fat-soluble vitamins that the body needs, including vitamins K, A, E, and D. By completely cutting out fat in our diet, we may be at risk of having vitamin deficiencies. Besides, fat provides insulation and shock absorption, protecting our bones and muscles from physical trauma.

The Problem With Fat

However, just like everything else, too much of anything is harmful to our health, and fat is no exception. People who are on the heavier side may be obese or overweight. With proper exercise and a healthy diet, individuals can get rid of excess fat and lead a well-balanced life.

Unfortunately, as we grow old, shedding the extra pounds can be challenging. Ageing slows down metabolism, which makes it more difficult to lose weight. In addition, there are hormone imbalances that can influence our appetite and our overall diet.

Thankfully, diet, exercise programs, and different weight loss products help burn off stubborn fat. To people who are looking for immediate but safe results, an aesthetic clinic can provide liposuction and fat grafting to help contour the body, assisting individuals to achieve curves in all the right places.

What Is Fat Grafting?

The process of fat grafting involves liposuction of fat from areas with an excessive amount of it – such as the abdomen, love handles, legs, and arms. It all depends on the patient’s preferences. The extracted fat is then mixed with platelet-rich-plasma or PRP, also taken from the patient’s body. After this, it is used as a natural filler to be injected at the parts of the body that need volumes such as breasts and the buttocks, and also the face.

Achieve Your Dream Body With Fat Grafting

There are multiple applications of fat grafting not just in plastic surgery but for other medical purposes as well. These can include reconstructive surgery and management of soft-tissue trauma. In addition, fat grafting can help you achieve your dream body in the following ways:

Long-lasting Results

The results of fat grafting last longer than commercially produced injectables. It is also the most natural and safe alternative to chemical dermal fillers. Fat grafting is a cost-effective way of obtaining a well-shaped body as it saves you several trips to your aesthetic clinic.

It’s Non-Surgical and Minimally Invasive

At Medicci Aesthetics, we use nano-grafting and PRP that provides less risk and minimal downtime. The results are instant, and the procedure is suitable for most patients regardless if they have undergone other cosmetic procedures before fat grafting.

Safe From Allergic Reactions

Finally, since the procedure makes use of your natural fat mixed with PRP (to make it long-lasting), The chances of allergic reactions from chemicals are drastically reduced. Using naturally occurring substances in the body makes it safe and unlikely to irritate.

Get your dream body today by visiting us at Medicii Aesthetics. Our experts will be glad to help you out on your journey to a body you can be proud of and feel happy in.

Defy The Signs Of Ageing: How Dermal Fillers Can Rejuvenate Your Skin

dermal fillers

For thousands of years, people have been trying to defy the signs of ageing. The quest for eternal youth goes all the way back to ancient times. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Chinese, and Indians had their own methods of fighting the effects of ageing, some of which were very effective, that in fact, most are still being applied even today.

However, unlike ancient practices, we do not have to douse ourselves with donkey milk (just as Cleopatra did) or apply radioactive facial creams just to achieve younger, radiant skin. Technology and countless medical research have led us to non-invasive, risk-free, and instant methods to anti-ageing, enter dermal fillers.

There is not an aesthetic clinic out there that does not offer all sorts of dermal fillers for different aesthetic procedures.

Dermal Fillers For Anti-Ageing

Fillers can be injected into the skin to temporarily smoothen out wrinkles and fine lines caused by ageing. It is a popular treatment for anyone looking for a safe and instant facial rejuvenation. Since it is a non-invasive procedure, anti-ageing dermal fillers are done via an out-patient basis. Meaning, you can walk out of the clinic as soon as the procedure is done. However, as mild bruising and injection-site swelling may occur, it is advisable to practice precautionary measures such as not being under the sun for too long and avoiding strenuous activity for at least a day or two.

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

As people age, their skin’s moisture, elasticity and volume or plumpness decrease. The body also slows down its production of collagen and elastin that keeps the skin from sagging and supports its elasticity and volume. With low levels of collagen and elastin, the skin begins to gradually lose its youthful appearance.

Hyaluronic acid, another vital component of your skin, declines as you age. This makes skin moisture retention difficult – leaving your skin dry and dull. Dermal fillers, which are made from hyaluronic acid, provide the moisture boost that’s needed for the skin to look younger. Additionally, fillers help add volume to those areas that suffer from a loss of collagen and elastin.

Dermal Fillers Are Safe To Use

Hyaluronic acid, which is the most active ingredient in most dermal fillers, occurs naturally in the body. Thus, when injected, the body naturally absorbs it in time – making it safe and less risky. Aesthetic clinics may offer a topical anesthetic to ease the discomfort during the procedure. Treatment time is usually under an hour and results can last for up to 18 months.

Different Applications Of Dermal Fillers

To achieve a youthful appearance, there are different applications of dermal fillers an individual can choose from – an aesthetic clinic usually offers the following services:

  • Lip Augmentation
  • Cheek Volumisation/Contour
  • Nasolabial / Marionette Fillers
  • Chin & Jawline Contouring
  • Tear Through Fillers
  • PROFHILO

All these treatments help individuals feel and look younger. If you’re interested in getting treatment, its best to work with experts in aesthetic procedures. Our specialists at Medicci Aesthetics are more than willing to help you fight off ageing and enjoy a young, rejuvenated, and healthy-looking skin.

Body Contouring: Boosting The Confidence Of Postpartum Mothers

Body Contouring

Weight gain is completely normal during pregnancy. Most mothers gain somewhere between 11 to 16 kilograms. Of course, there are also factors worth considering such as the pre-pregnancy weight. This implies that if a mother is underweight before pregnancy, she should gain a little more. In contrast, overweight women are advised to gain a little less weight.

Putting on the right amount of weight is important to keep a healthy pregnancy. Eating nutritious food is important not just for your health but for the baby too. Ideally, after pregnancy, mothers lose their excess weight within six weeks after giving birth and will continue to do so in the months to follow. There are studies as well that show breastfeeding mothers tend to lose weight considerably more than mothers who don’t.

Post-Partum Weight Gain And Retention

However, there are mothers who, unfortunately, experience postpartum weight gain and retention. This phenomenon is normal in most cases and there are different factors that influence it. Similarly, there are several aesthetic procedures that can help postpartum mothers shed excess weight and bring back their confidence.

Yes, it isn’t just you, 13 to 20 percent of mothers are experiencing the same circumstance. The way you address is what makes a difference. Exercising and consuming the right amount of calories is key to get rid of stubborn weight. Weight loss treatments at an aesthetics clinic can work too.

Why You’re Not Losing Weight

There are plenty of things that can influence your postpartum weight loss. Stress factors can affect your hormones that will promote weight gain. Thyroid problems are usually common for women during and after pregnancy, and these may lead to them gaining a few more pounds.

Not eating enough is also one cause why mothers do not lose their weight postpartum. Eating less does not automatically mean you will be losing weight. It may actually even lead to excess weight gain as not eating may slow down your metabolism. The body begins to store fat the moment you do not eat enough food. The key here is portion control.

Losing Weight After Pregnancy

Losing weight after pregnancy may become especially challenging for women who give birth at a later stage of their lives. The metabolism is slower and it becomes difficult to shed weight. Keeping an active lifestyle can contribute to losing weight, which takes time and discipline. When you do not have the time to squeeze in a workout in between your schedule, procedures done at aesthetic clinics are a great help.

Non-surgical treatments such as fat harvesting + grafting are becoming popular for women and postpartum mothers who desire to lose weight instantly. Body contouring is also a well sought-after procedure that is mostly performed at aesthetic clinics.

Breaking The Taboo: Busting Myths About Penis Enlargement

Aesthetics clinic

Perhaps something that all men can agree on is the desire or fantasy of having a considerable size for their manhood. And when we say considerable, we mean big. The bigger the better, as many men would believe. While some women argue that size doesn’t matter and it’s all about the performance –  it cannot remove the fact that some men still wish they were bigger.

Surprisingly, a large number of men who desire bigger manhood believe they have below-average sizes. The first truth is that they usually have normal-sized tools. And while in fact, the micropenis does exist, a considerably small number of men’s penises fall under that category. Secondly, there are several ointments, medications, skin treatments, exercises, and procedures claiming they can effectively enlarge a man’s knob. However, these things almost entirely never work and may even do more harm than good.

Our experts at Medicci Aesthetics let us in on a few myths surrounding penis enlargement to settle the score once and for all.

Does Penis Stretching Work? – Not Scientifically Proven

There is little to no evidence that penis exercises such as jelqing actually improve penis length and girth. The majority of claims on penis stretching are purely anecdotal.

Jelqing involves manually stretching the flaccid penis with a repetitive hand-over-hand motion to encourage more blood flow at the head. By doing this, individuals claim that it can extend the size of the penis.

At present, there is no scientific data that supports this claim. While it may seem like a harmless practice, you may run the risk of irritation, pain, and discomfort.

Pills, Ointments, And Medication – Not Scientifically Proven

The availability of size-enhancing pills, herbal “organic”  concoctions, miracle ointments, and lotions that claim to promote penile length can stretch over miles (pun intended).

However, these are far riskier, especially ones that are illegally sold and are not government-approved. There are several health risks that come with taking these “enhancing” supplements such as nausea and chronic pain.

Weights – Plausible But Unlikely

Perhaps considered as the oldest size enhancing procedure, several men believe that hanging weights at the tip or the head of the penis can extend its length. Although it may likely increase the flaccid length of the penis, considering weights are hung continuously over a long period; it does not improve its girth or thickness. And who would want to have something tied to their willies for eight hours or more every day?

Surgery – Proven But Risky

Various surgical procedures can be performed to improve the length and girth of the penis. This generally involves two types of surgeries.
To make the penis appear longer, the suspensory ligament which connects the penis to the pelvis is cut (open). This, in turn, extends the part of the shaft that’s hidden from the body. To improve the girth, implants can be inserted into the shaft via surgery.

Non-Invasive Fillers – Proven And Risk-Free

There’s a non-invasive penis enlargement procedure popular in different aesthetic clinics across the UK. It involves the use of temporary dermal fillers to increase the length of the flaccid penis and at the same time improve its girth or thickness as well.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are commonly used since the substance is safe and easily dissolves inside the body. As these derma fillers are temporary, its effects usually last for six to eight months and can even go as long as a year.

Another non-invasive method is through fat grafting. This entails the harvesting of fat at a specific part of the body, it is then purified and used as a “natural filler”.

Consult An Expert

If you’re considering having a penis enlargement procedure, it is critical to consult an expert before proceeding. Get yourself educated about any risk factors, allergies, or sensitivities. You can always speak to our experts at our Medicci Aesthetics clinic.

Non-Invasive Aesthetic Procedures: Empowering The Trans Community

aesthetic clinic

Experiencing life as a member of the LGBTQ+ community is difficult – especially for someone who does not have the right support system in their environment. Although we see the community gaining a bigger tolerance, there is still a long way to go before acceptance.

We see representation in the media as well as on several platforms, but it is not enough to end the stigma surrounding the community. Individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+  experience marginalization from whatever society they belong in, no matter how open it is to the idea of gender as a spectrum.

In celebration of pride month this June, let us get to know the transgender community, their endeavors, and aspirations as well as the challenges they face and how treatments from an aesthetic clinic can play an important role in gender dysphoria and in empowering the trans community.

Understanding The Transgender Community

Being transgender means that an individual does not identify with the gender that they are assigned to at birth. This means, their gender identity and expression do not conform to what is commonly expected of them. For better understanding, let us differentiate gender identity and expression.

When you feel as though you were born in the wrong body, or experience an internal sense of being male despite being female and vice-versa, that is gender identity. On the other hand, gender expression is how individuals communicate and display their gender identity through clothing, speech, and interpretation of gender roles.

The ways of how being transgender are represented in pop culture is just a glimpse of what it’s really like to become one. The people’s perception of the trans community is ever-changing. Through the years, the public awareness about the LGBTQ+ and the trans community, in particular, has been gaining traction. People have become more open and accepting of transgender individuals.

Endeavoring Life As A Transgender

The truth is, the LGBTQ+ community still faces discrimination. In fact, 1 in every 4 LGBTQ+ individuals is discriminated against. In addition, a survey on the transgender community reveals that 27 percent of trans people have experienced being fired from work, denied a promotion, or refused to be hired just for being transgender.

Despite these challenges, the community remains steadfast in advocating their rights. At the end of the day, they are humans like everybody else, deserving of respect. Stripping away the physical aspects of what it is to become a person, despite the difference in race, complexion, and sexual identity, we are all human beings.

Just like anybody else, trans people have aspirations – a world of equality and tolerance and social acceptance. They’d like to feel that they are safe within society, their contributions acknowledged, and their rights exercised.

The Role Of Aesthetic Procedures In Trans Empowerment

The ultimate goal of aesthetic procedures is to make individuals comfortable in their own skin. In the transgender community though, it becomes deeper and its reason more profound. Most transgender individuals experience gender dysphoria – that is the feeling of born in the wrong body. Aesthetic procedures are pivotal for these individuals who want to live comfortably in the gender and body they identify with. Apart from hormone therapy,  an aesthetic clinic helps individuals treat their gender dysphoria, which can contribute to their mental wellbeing and in developing self-fulfillment.

These procedures can include breast augmentation, body contouring, jaw slimming, non-surgical bum lift, and dermal fillers. All these can help transgender individuals feel empowered and confident in their bodies. While there are also several surgeries available – some of which are risky such as gender reassignment – non-invasive treatments are an excellent start for those who are new to transitioning and are yet to take the big decision of undergoing major surgeries.

At Medicci Aesthetics, we have worked with hundreds of clients from the LGBTQ+ community, and we are always available as their allies to help them feel confident, acknowledged, and empowered. Happy pride month!
